About Speakka
Speakka is a free English-learning game built on one stubborn idea: you remember the words you play, not the words you read. Most apps hand you flashcards and hope something sticks. Speakka turns learning into a falling-words game instead — you catch each verb form before it lands, and because you had to recall it in the moment, it stays with you.
The game grew out of a simple frustration: word lists are boring, and boredom is the enemy of learning. Anyone who has tried to memorise a page of vocabulary knows how little of it survives the next morning. A game changes that. It gives each word a little pressure, a little reward, and a reason to come back tomorrow — the same things that make puzzle games hard to put down, pointed at something genuinely useful.
Today Speakka teaches one thing properly: the 178 English irregular verbs that trip up every learner — base, past simple and past participle — across 89 levels. Meanings are explained in eight languages: French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese and Turkish. Every verb comes with US and UK audio, and your progress is saved as you go. It's free to play, with no download, no ads and no sign-up to start; an account simply keeps your progress synced across your devices.
